Measuring Extracellular Oxygen Consumption Using a Soluble Fluorescent Biosensor

Oxygen consumption is a metric that can be used to evaluate effects of different treatments on normal cellular respiration. One way to measure oxygen consumption is to detect how much oxygen in a cellular microenvironment is expended over time. This is indicated by an increasing signal from the Agilent MitoXpress Xtra Oxygen Consumption Assay biosensor shown here.
