BioTek’s Synergy Reader selected by Diachemix for their FP-based Diagnostic Kits

BioTek Instruments, Inc. and Diachemix LLC announced an agreement whereby BioTek’s Synergy™ 2 Multi-Mode Microplate Reader will be distributed by Diachemix primarily for use with their Brucellosis and M. bovis assay kits.

These assay kits use fluorescence polarization (FP) technology to rapidly, consistently and accurately detect the presence of the aforementioned pathogens in animal samples. According to Dr. Michael Jolley, Diachemix Scientific Director and Founder and developer of the first commercial FP assays, “The Synergy 2 is overall the best FP microplate instrument that we have evaluated for the reading of our assays for detection of antibodies to Brucella abortus, the causative agent of brucellosis, and Mycobacterium bovis, the causative agent of bovine TB. Not only that, it is the lowest cost instrument on the market. We are confident that our customers will be very pleased with the performance of the combination of our assays and the Synergy 2.”

In addition to FP, the Synergy 2 can be equipped with Fluorescence Intensity, Time-Resolved Fluorescence, Luminescence and monochromator-based Absorbance detection systems.
