October 29, 2010
On Friday, October 15th, ten members of the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce, hosted by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, visited BioTek Instruments. During this visit, all guests toured the facility and met with BioTek’s President and CEO Briar Alpert. The delegation also visited other Vermont-based companies to provide the Chinese visitors with a better understanding of trading opportunities between Vermont and China, and an introduction to Vermont’s high growth economic sectors with the goal of increased trade between Vermont and China.
According to Christopher Carrigan, V.P. of Business Development at the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, BioTek was selected for a site visit because of their expansion efforts to the Chinese market, and because they represent a leading Vermont manufacturing facility. BioTek was also the recipient of the 2009 Deane C. Davis Outstanding Business of the Year Award, exemplifying excellence in growth, business and a commitment to Vermont and the environment.
