Principal Scientist, Cell Biology and Imaging

BioTek Instruments, Inc. is a market leader in detection and imaging instrumentation for life science and drug discovery research. We are recognized globally for our innovative product line and excellent customer service. Currently we are searching for an exceptional candidate to join our Applications team as a Principal Scientist, Cell Biology and Imaging.

In this role, you will provide scientific guidance and be responsible for generating scientific marketing collateral with BioTek’s existing and developing products and then disseminating the scientific collateral at trade shows and at customer sites, as needed. Primary duties include assay development using BioTek instrumentation; development and fostering of scientific collaborations with vendor partners or customers; creation of application and technical notes, conference presentations, webinars and other documents suitable for the marketing of BioTek instrumentation from the assays developed; internal technical support for marketing efforts to end-users, support for R&D for new product development and training of Field Applications Specialists; high level technical support for both pre and post-sales opportunities; and technical support of our global sales channels in the form of in-the-field presentations of developed assays.

Our ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in Life Sciences (Cell Biology, Biochemistry or related field) with a PhD preferred. He/She will have advanced knowledge of fluorescence imaging, widefield and/or confocal microscopy; extensive image analysis experience. Familiarity with ImageJ, CellProfiler, etc.; and extensive lab experience in designing and optimizing assays gained in academic or industrial setting. Experience with complex instrumentation, image analysis software for cell biology applications, tissue culture along with strong computer and written and verbal communication skills with ability to multi-task projects and up to 20% travel including international travel are also required. Industry experience is a plus.
