Field Application Specialist

Due to our continued growth, we are currently seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented life science professional to join the BioTek Sales Team as a Field Applications Specialist. The ideal individual will possess a unique combination of scientific education and experience with automation systems, multimode plate readers and liquid handling instrumentation; be outgoing, confident, self-motivated and results-oriented with excellent communication/presentation and training ability. This individual will work well independently but will appreciate being part of a dynamic, growing sales team.

The primary function for this position will be to provide demonstrations, training, system integration support, and assay optimization on the BenchCel and other automation products, liquid-handling instruments, and multimode plate readers. In this role you will also provide scientific and technical assistance to our Applications and Product Management teams.

Preferred candidates will possess an advanced science degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related major and minimum of 2 years experience in an HTS lab. Requirements include advanced academic or industrial experience in using automation and microplate instrumentation, preferably in an HTS lab. Excellent knowledge of microplate-based liquid-handling systems and knowledge and experience with ELISA and bead assays, FL and LUM assays in plate readers with FP, TRF, FRET, and AlphaScreen preferred.
Extensive lab experience in designing and optimizing assays and a strong ability to diagnose complex instrumentation or application issues is also required.

In this role, you will be required to travel and able to lift 75-100 lbs ideally residing within the San Francisco Bay area.
