Increasingly, life science assays are run on live cells. Some of these assays require control over CO2 and O2 concentrations to modulate the environment for pH buffering or to create a hypoxic condition. These assays are traditionally run in flasks in a low-throughput manner, but there is a burgeoning interest in automation of live cell-based assays in microplates for higher throughput and efficiency, therefore there is a need for cell-friendly microplate instrumentation.
The Gas Controller module for Cytation™3 and Synergy™ H1 allows full control over CO2 and O2 concentrations to regulate the environment for microplate based live cell assays. The Gas Controller and other important cell-friendly features of the Cytation3 and Synergy H1, like variable shaking parameters, 4-ZoneTM temperature control and a robust mechanical system make the system the best microplate reader available for cell-based assays. Short- and long- term assays are easily managed with the Synergy H1 systems. Cytation3 allows greater automation of cell assay workflows by combining multi-mode detection with automated digital microscopy, providing phenotypic cellular data along with well-based quantitative data.
