BioTek Instruments recently received the 2012 Silver Award from the Vermont Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. This award recognizes BioTek's worksite wellness program for encouraging and enabling employees to improve their overall health.
BioTek's BioFit wellness program, started in 2011, provides learning opportunities that will positively affect employee behaviors and encourage them to develop active and fit lifestyles. BioFit activities have included on-site education and fitness classes, incentives for preventative care, being tobacco free and participation in fitness challenges.
"The program was enthusiastically embraced by employees with more than 80% participation in one or more initiatives offered in 2011," says Kathy Gendron, BioTek's Vice President, Human Resources. "Employee wellness and well-being are part of our core values and culture, and the BioFit program keeps individual employees, and the entire company, energized and strong!"
